Sherlene Yantz Bradbury began her jewelry career while still a student at Millersville State University in Lancaster, PA.. She worked in sales in a regionally owned jewelry store from 1979-1982 . From there, she ventured to Santa Monica, CA to attend GIA and graduated first in her class in August of 1982. She holds a Graduate Gemologist-In-Residence diploma from the Gemological Institute of America and is a charter member of the GIA Alumni Association. She is at present, an active Certified Master Appraiser and Vice Chair of Education in the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers. She is currently Co-Vice President of the DC Chapter of the GIA Alumni Association as well as a past Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President. In 1991, she attended the Gemological Symposium and received a Member Recognition Award.
Sherlene has over 41 years of jewelry retailing and appraising experience including 21 years in one of Washington’s finest privately owned companies. She gained experience in sales, appraising, jewelry design, corporate and second-hand buying.
She has been interviewed by “Business Her Way” and AM Radio 700, The Arnette Report and has had articles published in both Washington Woman and Your Health magazines as well as an article about shopping for jewelry and watches in the Caribbean printed in the Travel Section of the Washington Post.
