Yantz Bradbury Associates has an office in Rockville, Maryland near the Shady Grove Metro station. For collection of 11 or more items we bring the latest in portable equipment to your doorstep. We use a laboratory certified by the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA) containing a stereo zoom microscope with dark field illumination accented with a fiber optic light source. Included in the lab is a refractometer, polariscope, hand held and table top spectroscopes, long wave and short wave UV light sources, Chelsea and Hanneman filters, Gemoro and Tanita digital carat and metal scales.
We use the Ott-Lite Trucolor lamp for colour grading of diamonds with a 10- stone Ellin CZ master set and GIA Certified Master stones. For measuring, we use a Presidium Digital Gemstone Gauge accompanied by the GIA Table Gauge. Metal testing is done with acids. and electronic Kee Gold Tester.
For photography, we proudly use the Nikon Coolpix 4500 digital camera. This camera also has an adapter lens for shooting internal photos through the microscope of your gemstones for verifying and illustrating the clarity aspect of your stones.
A state-of-the-art appraisal software is used for compiling the data and recording conclusions. This software allows for digital photos to be included in all documents.
